Decoupage Sandpaper or sanding tools can be used to gently sand the edges and surface of the decoupage layer, revealing the underlying material or creating a worn texture. Using a sharp object such as a craft knife or a piece of wire, you can create small scratches or nicks on the surface of the decoupage layer to mimic the effects of natural aging. Instead of neatly cutting the paper or other materials used in decoupage, tearing them can create irregular edges and a more rustic look, especially when layered or overlapped.
