Ascension and Resurrection

The resurrection of Jesus is when God raised Jesus from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion, starting and restoring his exalted life as Christ and Lord. According to the New Testament writing, Jesus was firstborn from the dead, ushering in the Kingdom of God. The Ascension is when Jesus rose from the dead, he did not die a second time. Instead, 40 days after his resurrection, Jesus left the Earth by being taken up, body and soul, to Heaven to re-join God the Father. This event is called the ascension , and it was witnessed by Jesus' eleven remaining apostles
