Giuseppe Arcimboldo

Giuseppe Arcimboldo (c. 1526–1593) was an Italian Mannerist painter celebrated for imaginative portraits composed of fruits, flowers, vegetables, animals, and objects. Working at the Habsburg court, he blended natural observation, visual illusion, humor, and allegory into some of Renaissance art’s most distinctive images.
