Home Decor - 1940s Home Decor
#ZazzleMade To the ladies of the era, the first half of the 1940’s was all about "The Home Front" and supporting our troops around the world, Victory Gardens, and making do w/ rationed supplies; but when the "boys" came home "Ooo La La!". It was the start of a new sort of prosperity when tens of thousands of Vets and their families joined the growing middle class and moved to the suburbs and the "Little Woman" of the house studied the magazines and feathered their nests with the latest styles. This was a period of light hearts, whimsy, colorful appliances and the introduction of international style. The original designs by artist, Leslie Sigal Javorek, adorning the products in this collection reflect those sensibilities, adopting a typical 1940’s color pallette of aqua, dark red, sunny yellow, bone and gray; and incorporating simple geometric shapes and ordinary objects drawn & colored in the most delightful way.
