International day for Biological Diversity: It's a Good Idea. 22 May is set aside to increase understanding of biodiversity issues. Biodiversity looks at living things and their interactions. Often referred to in three levels - species, genetic and ecosystem biodiversity. Understanding biodiversity assists in sustainable food production for humans.
