International Literacy Day

International Literacy Day. September 8 is set aside to celebrate International Literacy Day (ILD). The aim is to encourage the love of reading by holding events such as book reading and discussion, author visits, volunteer events, literacy fairs, literacy murals and reading marathons. Literacy empowers and liberates people. The 2023 theme was 'Promoting literacy for a world in transition: Building the foundation for sustainable and peaceful societies'
