Somali Bee-eater African Bird Vintage Pattern

The vibrant Somali Bee-eater, scientific name Merops revoilii, makes a fascinating, almost lattice like pattern. Perfect for a safari themed decor. Hard to believe, the Somali Bee-eater said to be the plainest member of its striking Meropidae family, and yet its beauty even non-birders really appreciate. It occurs in rather remote areas of Somaliland's driest savanna. Their range extends from Somalia east into southeastern Ethiopia, west to Saudi Arabia, and south in to Kenya. This handsome vintage illustration is by J. Terrier, from Faune et flore des pays Çomalis (Afrique orientale), published in Paris in 1882. All royalties and referrals received by the Somaliland Biodiversity Foundation's shop will be donated by us to the Somaliland Biodiversity Foundation. Thank you for your support.
