William Morris: The Honeysuckle Pattern
The English designer William Morris (1834-1896) created the enchanting "Honeysuckle" pattern in 1876. The green rendition in this collection comes from the book, The Art of William Morris (1834-1896), by Aylmer Vallance, published in London by Chiswick Press in 1897, in the collection of the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute Library (https://archive.org/details/artofwilliammorr00vall). The blue rendition comes from a length of linen in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of art (https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/222341).
