Historic Route 66 Centennial Perfect Poster

America’s road, historic Route 66, celebrates its centennial anniversary in 2026, having been started in November of 1926. Also know as the National Road, Main Street of America and the Mother Road, Route 66 was the first major federal highway running across much of the United States. It begins in Chicago, Illinois and ends in Los Angeles at Santa Monica, California. It traverses Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. Many migrants traveled west during the dust bow depression era of the 1930’s via Route 66. Although overtaken by the interstate highway system, Route 66 remains a cultural icon and it being restored in many areas for its historical significance.
