My name is Lindy and I am a South African/Dutch girl who loves to create art. As a child I use to draw for hours a day and copy pictures from childrens books and cartoons. I use to love copying pictures from Disney, Barbie, Jem, Moon Dreamers and My little Pony. As I grew older I started drawing from fashion magazines and concentrated mostly on faces, and eyes. The Eyes are very important to me, and I view it as the center point of any painting. Sometimes I will draw the eyes to big for the face, but its my style and not an anatomy flaw:-) I love the draw attention to the eyes. I moved to Holland as a 15 year old and I gave up on my art, and quite drawing all together. I no longer had the right materials nor room to create. Holland is not a very inspirational place to live. In 1999 I discovered the Art of Amy Brown on line and it inspired me to create a whole new fantasty world for myself, and I started doing doodles again. I discovered that I needed to train myself all over again. I never had any art training. I did a art course at the HAK (art school) here in Holland, but I don't really think I learnt anything. (The work was too based on Dutch culture and only made me hate this country even more) In August 2003 I finally picked up a paint brush and decided to try a fairy, similar to Amy Browns style. I was so proud of it. Now it's exactly a year later and I am glad to report that I am happy with the progress that I have made. Lindy van den Bosch- 22 August 2004
