Over mij
Originally formed in 2006, indie rock’n’roll band Moral Soul have established themselves as one of the UK’s finest independent acts.
2009 saw the band play sell-out gigs supporting Athlete and Tom Hingley, a headline slot for Oxjam in Manchester, a gig for Southampton FC at St Mary’s Stadium, and festival appearances including Cheshire’s Whatfest and an acoustic set on the Greenpeace stage at Glastonbury. In August, the hotly anticipated single ‘Violence’ was released to rave reviews and regular radio play alongside live sessions up and down the country. The first week of its release saw it go straight to number 1 on the Irish independent download chart.
Moral Soul have toured the UK relentlessly from the outset, playing gigs supporting The Happy Mondays, Babyshambles, Alphabeat and Inspiral Carpets, as well as a slot at Surrey’s Redfest 2008. The debut album ‘Seven’ was recorded and released on their own label Splendid! Records back in 2007, and the single ‘Just A Thought’ won them an AKG Unsigned Heroes Award. In 2008 they received nominations for a Red Stripe Music Award and an Indy Award, and two of their tracks entered the UK’s indie chart, with ‘Angel’ going in at number 4.
January 2010 saw Moral Soul hit the top 5 in ReverbNation’s chart for Manchester bands heading up what looks set to be a busy year. They are currently working on their second album, which is set for release in the summer, and will be out on the road playing dates up and down the country.
THANX 4 LISNIN!!
