Our store is all about Greece. We are in love with the country and here are the top five reasons why. 1. HISTORY: one of the most ancient cultures in the world, dating back thousands of years. The south tip of the Balkans was amongst the first places in Europe inhabited by humans in prehistoric times. It witnessed the first civilizations of the Minoans and the Mycenaeans, the glorious years of the city-states of Athens and Sparta, the empire of Alexander the Great and that of the Byzantines, everywhere in the country there is evidence of a rich historical heritage. There are other countries with great history such as Egypt, China, Italy, Mexico, Persia and Peru but there is only one cradle of western civilization… 2. CUISINE: with olive oil used as an ingredient in most of the recipes, fresh vegetables, meat, fish, fruits, this genuine Mediterranean cuisine is one of the healthiest and tastiest in the world. Not to mention the local sweets, honey, wines and ouzo! Once you taste the Greek dishes it’s hard not to crave for more… 3. ISLANDS: thousands of islands in the Aegean and Ionian seas offer the visitor an incomparable choice, so many options and such a variety that it makes it too hard to decide. All over the world there are beautiful islands, Caribbean, Hawaii, Seychelles, Maldives but what distinguishes the Greek islands is their uniqueness: the architecture in the villages with narrow alleys and whitewashed houses, blue domed chapels and the inebriating smell of dry herbs in the summer… 4. WEATHER: does it rain in Greece? Yes it does and it even snows! But those are only a few days in the year…blessed by Helios, the sun god, the country enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine every year. Even in the heart of winter in January there are plenty of sun filled days. Rent a motorbike or an open top car and enjoy the great outdoors! 5. HOSPITALITY: yes it is true there is an economic crisis but when you are living in the countryside or on an island, enjoying the sun,
