em·​ber | \ ˈem-bər slowly dying or fading emotions, memories, ideas, or responses still capable of being revived As a teen, I had visions of being a wedding and event planner. Yet I passed it off as a flight of fancy and too nontraditional. Looking back, I think I loved the idea because it combined the parts of me that felt too disparate to provide a clear professional path. Tapped into my “whole brain”—leaning neither towards creative nor analytic but a mix of both. So, I got my B.S. in Marketing. And after grad school, I spent the next 11 years with the same company honing my skills, but something always felt like it was missing. As the years went on, I got comfortable being uncomfortable with my work life. It was only when my fiance and I went through the unimaginable loss of our 16-month old dog, Raven, to bone cancer that my uncomfortability at my job became unbearable. When she lost her battle on 1/7/2021, I lost myself. Fortunately, my partner loves what he does professionally, and wanted that for me. He’s my biggest supporter and gave me time to heal and find my way. To let those dying embers in me become a blaze of passion and purpose. In 2022 those embers began to ignite. I began to be revived. And it was largely thanks to my sister’s wedding and all the events that go along with it. I was reminded just how much I love planning events that bring people together to celebrate. I had come full circle and was rapidly approaching what would make me happy professionally and personally. Helping as many people as I can with carefully crafted printable templates that set the stage for special days in their lives. Ember Papier brings together my love of design and analytics, research and trend spotting, and planning the ultimate events celebrating everything from life's biggest milestones to parties and everything in between.
