Grailrunner

In 1997 while I was in the Navy with a head full of the first 3 Dune books, Buffy The Vampire Slayer episodes, and old John Wayne western movies, I took a trip out to a rock gorge in Oman to sleep in the desert. Somehow, strangely, I day-dreamed a mysterious retro-futuristic cowboy, general of hidden armies, entering a desert saloon with soldiers and bandits inside terrified of whoever he was. Fully formed in my mind's eye, I've never had such a clear picture as that. Answering all the questions that picture raised turned into Grailrunner and the signature Salt Mystic western-themed science fantasy setting so much of our company is built on.
